The root's exterior is yellow and papery, while its inside is creamy white with a crisp texture that resembles raw potato or pear. The flavor is sweet and starchy, reminiscent of some apples, and it is usually eaten raw, sometimes with salt, lemon, or lime juice and chili powder. It is also cooked in soups and stir-fried dishes. Great diced up in summer salads.
Peppers Habanero
$7.99
/lb
The legendary hottest of all peppers, its name means from Havana. Habanero and its kin long ago migrated from the Caribbean Islands to Central America where they remain extremely popular today. A close relative of the Jamaican Scotch Bonnet, the short, wrinkled, green fruits (1-1/2 long by 1 wide) turn orange. To complement its searing heat, Habanero has a delicious, pungent, smoky quality unlike any other pepper many people find its flavor and aroma irreistible in sauces and salsas.

Holland Red Hot Pepper
$12.99
/lb
Red hot cherry peppers load up in abundance earlier in the season than any other hot cherry pepper on the market. The thick-walled peppers are about 2 inches wide and long with a medium-hot flavor that is just perfect for pickling or stuffing with cheese as a 'hot' appetizer.
