One of New York City’s premiere specialty food markets seeks a Store Manager for our high volume operation. The successful candidate will be a results-driven, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for food. The Store Manager must provide strong leadership and set a clear vision and goals for department management. Our ideal candidate has great customer service skills and a solid knowledge of specialty food, merchandising and the retail food business.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Exceptional food knowledge, specialty food a must / Italian food a major plus
• Good understanding of food preparation and a good palate
• Strong management skills
• Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible management experience in a retail food, restaurant or hospitality environment (retail food manager preferred)
• Inventory management
• Excellent analytical skills
• Well developed written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Management Execution: delegates responsibilities and conveys clear expectations
• Focus on Service: identifies and anticipates customer requirements, expectations and needs

Essential Job Duties:
• Responsible for analyzing department sales
• Ensure that all products are in stock, made, packed and merchandised at all times
• Achieve store sales goals by ensuring exceptional merchandising of products, store cleanliness and employee engagement
• Managing and motivating department management to increase sales and ensure productivity
• Responsible for departmental inventory management
• Responsible for the administration of all policies and procedures
• Oversee and control each department’s schedule and schedule changes, and ensure budgets are maintained
• Oversee the supervision, training and development of department management and associates
• Teach and reinforce behaviors that result in department management and associates delivering excellent customer service

This candidate must be able to prepare food for serving and must have knowledge of sanitation and health standards as established by food production programs and procedures. This position also requires an individual with the ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast paced environment while maintaining proper sanitation.
The candidate must be able to complete the following:
•Ability work with little/no supervision
•Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling
•Being able to operate steamer, oven, slicer and other cooking equipment.
•Understanding and knowledge of sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures

Butcher / Meat Cutter

New York’s premier Italian specialty food store, is seeking a Butcher to join our staff. The candidate must be able to aid customers with product selection, preparation and packaging of the product. As this is a customer service position, the candidate must be able to work well with people, handle a fast paced environment and interact well with customers. This is a full time position and weekends are a must.
The ideal candidates for the position must be:
• Dedicated team player
• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Extremely customer-service oriented.

• Previous experience as a butcher.
• Must have excellent knife skills and in depth product knowledge.
